PSU Professors to Present a Paper at the University of Hawaii


Dr. Rodolfo V. Asanion, President of Pangasinan State University, heads a delegation to participate in the NAKEM Centennial Conference – with the theme “Imagination and Critical Consciousness in Ilocano Language, Culture, and Politics" – on November 9-12, 2006 at the University of Hawaii in Manoa, Honolulu.

The delegation that includes four PSU professors, namely: Dr. Zenaida U. Suyat, Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Lydia C. Buduhan, Executive Director of PSU-Open University Systems, Dr. Elena R. Barcelona, Director for Cultural and External Affairs, and Dr. Virginia F. Malicdem, retired Social Science Professor of PSU-Bayambang campus, is set to present a paper entitled “The Participation of Women in Development: The Ilocano Experience” in the said conference.

The delegation’s participation in the celebrated conference will not only add prestige to the Pangasinan State University but is also envisioned as an opportunity to forge links, partnerships, and complementation programs with other prestigious institutions of higher learning in Hawaii.
